Privacy notice

Last updated 27 October 2026

Datefix looks at your dating profile and tells you how to improve it. To do that we need some of your data. This notice explains what we keep, why, who else touches it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Datefix is run by Ardenlyx Health Group Ltd, the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything in this notice at hello@datefix.app.

What we store

  • Your email address, so you can sign in with a magic link and we can contact you about your account.
  • Screenshots of your dating profile and photos you upload, so we can score your profile and pick your best photos.
  • Prompts and answers you type in or that we read from your screenshots, so we can rewrite them.
  • Results: your scores, fixes, photo picks, rewrites and the other text Datefix generates for you, so you can come back to them and see what changed when you re-score.
  • Your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, so we know whether you have an active plan. Stripe holds your card details; we never see or store them.
  • Basic technical records: usage events (which pages and features you use), when you were last active, a cookie for the free preview, a one-way hash of your IP address for the preview limit, and how much each analysis cost us to run.

Information that may reveal who you're interested in

A dating profile can show your sexual orientation or other sensitive details. Under UK data protection law this is special category data. We only process it because you explicitly agree when you upload, and only to give you your results. You can withdraw that agreement at any time by deleting your account, which removes it.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To provide Datefix (scores, photo picks, rewrites and the other features you use): this is necessary for our contract with you, plus your explicit consent for anything sensitive in your profile.
  • To take payment and manage your plan: necessary for our contract with you.
  • To keep the service working and stop abuse (the free preview limit, security, fixing bugs, tracking costs): our legitimate interests in running a safe, affordable service.
  • To keep financial records: a legal obligation.

We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

How the AI analysis works

Your screenshots, photos and text are sent to Anthropic's API, which runs the Claude models that produce your results. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. Anthropic may keep it for a limited period under its own data retention terms, for example for safety monitoring.

AI results can be wrong. Treat them as advice from a blunt friend, not as fact. We never edit faces or bodies, and we never use your photos to generate new images.

Other people's profiles and chats

Decode and Plan It let you upload screenshots of someone else's dating profile or of a chat with them. We process these under our legitimate interests (and yours) in helping you decide how to talk to someone who chose to share that information with you on a dating app, and only to give you that one result.

  • The screenshots are deleted immediately after the analysis, whether it succeeds or not. A backstop removes anything left behind (for example an upload that was never analysed) within the hour, and always within 24 hours.
  • We keep only the text result we gave you, linked to your account, and you can delete it at any time from the Account page.
  • Results never record the other person's sexual orientation, religion or beliefs, health or ethnicity, even if their profile mentions it.

Please only upload screenshots that person chose to share with you on a dating app.

Feature my roast

On a Photo Picker result you can tick “Feature my roast”. It's off unless you tick it. If you do, we may share that result (your ranked photos and our comments) on our website and social accounts, with other people's faces blurred and without your name. Our legal basis is your consent. Untick it at any time and we won't use it again, and we'll remove anything already posted where we can.

Who else processes your data

We share data only with these service providers, who process it on our instructions and under contract:

  • Supabase: our database, file storage and sign-in.
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
  • Anthropic: the AI analysis described above.
  • Resend: sending sign-in and account emails.
  • Vercel: hosting the website and running scheduled jobs.
  • PostHog (EU hosting): product analytics, so we can see which features help (see Cookies and analytics below).
  • Google (Places): finding date venues in Plan It. We send only the kind of place and the area, never your chat or anything about you.

We don't share your data with anyone else unless the law requires us to. Some of these providers process data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

  • Uploaded screenshots and photos are deleted automatically 30 days after you were last active on Datefix. Your text results stay so you can still see your scores and history.
  • Free previews you never paid for: uploads and results are deleted after 30 days.
  • Other people's screenshots: deleted straight after the analysis, and always within 24 hours.
  • Everything else is kept while you have an account. When you delete your account we delete it all (see below).
  • Stripe keeps payment and invoice records for as long as the law requires. That's outside our control and covered by Stripe's own privacy notice.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. It takes effect immediately and can't be undone. We cancel any subscription straight away (no refund for the rest of the period), and we permanently delete your sign-in, email, uploads, results and Stripe customer record. Our cost records for past analyses are kept with everything that identifies you removed.

You can also delete a single result (a score, photo pick, rewrite, Decode, plan or shot list) from the Your data list on the Account page. Deleting a score or photo pick deletes its photos too, unless another result still uses them, and you can delete any photos no result uses.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for Datefix to work: one that keeps you signed in, and one that ties your free preview to your browser before you have an account. We don't use advertising cookies.

We measure how Datefix is used (for example, how many people upload, pay, or use each feature) with PostHog, without analytics cookies and without recording your screen. These events are linked to your account or preview ID, never to the content of your profile, photos or chats. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving Datefix.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your data,
  • correct anything that's wrong,
  • delete it,
  • restrict or object to how we use it,
  • give it to you in a format you can move elsewhere.

Email hello@datefix.app and we'll reply within one month. If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Age

Datefix is for people aged 18 and over. If we find out we have data from someone under 18, we delete it.

Changes

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
